Age of Chaos expansion: Unlocked at Player Level 70, you can find doom and chaos in these infected dungeons.Boss Mode: Unlocked at Player Level 60, this is the place where you will find the hardest Dungeons with the most dangerous enemies and sweetest loot such as Epics (only found on Boss Island, unlocked at Player Level 50).It offers Blessings of the Seeker, Leonidus tokens and other rare Hero Tokens. In preparation for the Dungeon battle, up to four Heroes are chosen to fight through the Dungeon. In addition,up to three Potions are added to the bag to assist with the vigor of the battle. You can choose which potions to bring to the battle. When the battle starts, there are two special icons located on the bottom of the screen. The sword icon on the right is an auto-attack button that forces all of your Heroes to perform their Basic Attack on all enemies (silver sword) or perform their special attacks (golden sword). The basic attack option should be used only if your Heroes are strong enough to defeat the enemies. Farming ends up playing a large part of the game and is also hindered by the game’s limiting energy system.The auto-attack mode is cancelled if one Hero has died or in low HP. Because of the difficulty, you have to start farming fairly early on which involves replaying previous stages multiple times in order to obtain equipment to fuse. You can equip two weapons at one time which is useful if monsters have different elements in a stage, but that also means you have another weapon you need to upgrade.

This is where farming comes into play.Ĭompleting stages can give you equipment which you can use to upgrade your main weapons. Because the difficulty rises quickly it is important to regularly upgrade your equipment. Each piece of equipment also has a certain element and fusing equipment of the same element will increase the amount of upgrade experience. To improve your weapons and armor, you can fuse them with other weapon and armor cards. Equipment in this game is card-based, meaning your weapon and armor are cards that you can collect and equip. However, the energy system in the game only allows about 1 hour of gameplay before it runs out and has to refill.įusion plays a large part in Dungeon Hunter 5. Each stage can be completed in around 2-5 minutes. You can also bring a companion along in each stage that is a computer-controlled version of another player’s character. Every so often there is a cutscene that adds to the story and immersion.
The combat is fluid and involves running through a map killing enemies and a boss at the end. Harder modes give better rewards and you must complete the previous difficulty to unlock the harder one. Each stage also has a normal, hard, and expert difficulty. Each stage has a backstory behind it and an objective to complete. The combat is fast, action-oriented, and smooth.
You control your character with a virtual joystick and have buttons to attack, dodge, and use skills. There is a single-player campaign that takes place in instanced stages on a large map expanding to 5 different realms.
